Despite of its popularity, today very few of us know what meditation truly is. Some regard meditation is the mental concentration on something; others consider that we meditate when we imagine something that gives us peace and satisfaction. All these methods are being with one goal to slow down and, eventually, completely stop the incessant activity of our minds. These exercises are not really meditation – they are substitutes for meditation because it is normally very difficult to stop our minds all – together. In reality, meditation is a state of thoughtless awareness. It is not an act of doing – it is a state of awareness, we either in this state or we are not, regardless of what we are doing in life. Truly, a man can be in meditation while doing his day’s labours as another man can be very far from meditation while sitting in a lotus posture on the top of a mountain.

When we take a look at the various explanation of meditation, other things we often see is that mediation is defined as taking a moment to sit quietly to ponder. True meditation; however is much more than this. It is a state of profound, deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm and silent, yet completely alert. This is just the beginning of a transformation that takes us to the higher level of awareness. This enables us to fulfil our true human potential. The problem is off course how to achieve this state.

In this tour we will enlighten you what Meditation is all about under the guidance of a Buddhist monks. In the serene valley of Spitti where your mind is already at ease is the best occasion to gain knowledge of meditation and Buddhist practises.

We offer you a pleasant Stay at Komic village (14,000 ft aprox above sea level) with the monks for 7 days. You will discover the life style of a monk. How they live, what they eat, what they chant, what they wear, why they wear the same attire and most probably how they meditate.

Tibetan Buddhists believe that saying the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. We provide you the depth of this mantra. Along with the preaching of meditation at 6 am in the morning you will also spend a playful time with the young Buddhist monks playing volleyball and cricket during their breaks, laughter sessions and small walks in the mountains. This tour is meant for both men and women of all ages who want to know a different division of life which is not materialistic but full of compassion.

Meditation brings wisdom; lack of mediation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.
